Critical Incident Support
A Critical Incident can be a bereavement, including that of a family pet, who was important to a child, separation of parents, divorce, a parent living with serious illness, or the frustration of a child living with a condition that sets them apart from their peers. When children hear bad or sad news, they need reassurance, and need the chance to talk about their feelings.
The Educational Psychology Service offers support following a critical incident. The support may be for an individual or the community and responses are planned accordingly.
Schools can access this service through the Educational Psychology Service.
