Blossom House School 6th Form Provision

Co-educational specialist provision for 16 – 19 year old students with speech, language and communication difficulties. The 6th form is a ‘college links’ provision for students who are academically capable of embarking on a college course, but continue to require support emotionally and socially.

Students divide their week between a local Further Education College and our post 16 Provision. Here they receive SLT input (discussion groups, support for social skills and courses being studied, 1:1 input if necessary); study for Functional Skills qualifications and GCSEs in English and Maths if required; and Work Skills BTEC. At college there is support from our assistants and from our SLTs.

Students are expected to be able to travel independently or at least to be starting to do so. There is emphasis on students growing in personal responsibility and initiative.
