Personalised Individualised Parenting Therapy (PIPT)

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, this progamme has been suspended. We will update this website page as soon as it is available again.

PIPT is a parenting programme tailored to support the needs of individual parents or carers and their children. A Parenting Therapist provides one-to-one support and coaching whilst the parent is caring for their child.

PIPT offers ways to encourage positive behaviour in children, using special time, emotional coaching, praise and reward charts. It also helps parents to reduce the negative behaviour of their child through time-out for aggression, ignoring and use of consequences.

Please read the leaflet on this page for full details.

This programme is for children aged from three years to the end of their reception year at school and their parents. These children have challenging behaviours, which may include ADHD symptoms. PIPT is not suitable for all families with children who have behavioural issues and there are some exclusion criteria. You and your child will be assessed to check that the programme is right for you.

If you think that this programme may be helpful for you, please speak to your health visitor, a member of children’s centre staff or another practitioner who is working with you and your child
