Deaf or hearing-impaired adults - Merton services
Details of services provided by Merton and other organisations. There is a drop-in centre at Merton Civic Centre on Wednesdays between 2.00pm and 4pm specifically for Deaf people who use British Sign Language.
We can offer the following services to people over the age of 18 with a hearing impairment:
assessment of needs
- register of deaf or hard of hearing people
- Carers Act Assessment to informal carers
- advice on welfare benefits or grants
- provision of equipment, information, advice and refer to other relevant agencies
- information on direct payments and personal budgets
- links with local and national organisations to promote the welfare of people who are deaf or hard of hearing
