Bond Road Family Centre Family Support & Outreach
The team works with families who have child/children 0 – 11 years of age for up to 12 weeks or to a maximum of 6 months.
There is scope to extend the work but this is done on a case by case basis.
The team work with families where there are a range of issues impacting on the family, such as adult mental health, domestic violence, drug and alcohol misuse and child protection concerns, behavioural problems with children, implementing routines and boundaries, issues with housing and homelessness, contact issues and separation between the parents.
They also work with families whose children are in the care of the Local Authority either to support them to develop their parenting skills or if the children are being returned home to support the rehabilitation of the children back into the family unit. Families are also supported when preparing for a new baby and in particular with teenage parents.
The whole family is involved and this can include extended family members if they are part of the family network and support system.
Bond Road Family Centre is part of Merton Social Care. They work with families who are at level 3 and above of the Merton child and young person well being model. The families at level 3 are mainly families where there are complex issues that may become child protection.
The centre values diversity and welcomes referrals from a cross culture of families who reside in the London Borough of Merton.
The staff team is made up of Qualified Social Workers and Family Support Workers who have a child care qualification.
