National Autistic Society (NAS) Merton Sensory Workshop
Sheena Rufus, Team leader Merton Children and Young people's Occupational Therapy, will help you understand the overload of stimulus caused by SPD. She will demonstrate strategies, using basic equipment you can find in high street shops, that will help to regulate stress.
You will then have the opportunity to borrow equipment from our Sensory Library to try at home, a cash deposit will be required, varying depending on which piece of equipment you choose. Equipment on loan must be returned within 1 month.
The workshop will be interesting for everyone affected by autism, adults and parents / carers of children. However the equipment is designed mainly with children in mind. This event is not suitable for children to attend.
