Adult Education in Merton
Merton Council offers a wide range of courses. It is part of the South Thames Colleges Group.
Merton College has specialist teaching, and a support team, to work with young people and adults with a wide range of disabilities, and learning difficulties. A section of the application form gives you the opportunity to request assistance from the Learner Support Team. The college facilities are adapted to provide access to everyone. Daytime courses for adults (people over 18), who have a learning disability or difficulty, include life skills, looking after yourself, arts & crafts, etc. The courses take place at a number of locations around the borough (South Wimbledon, Colliers Wood and Mitcham) between 10am and 4.30pm on weekdays. Students with additional needs will be supported to access Merton Adult Learning. Please enrol as early as possible and let us know what type of support you will require.
The specialist courses for learners with a learning disability are run in accessible venues by trained staff and in small groups. Additional learning support is tailored around individual needs.
