No Barriers at Home: empowering young people through football

No Barriers at Home Logo

Big Ideas is proud to share No Barriers at Home, a project that lets young people discover twelve inspirational footballers, past and present, who have challenged barriers in their lives including gender inequality, racism, mental health and disability. Each No Barriers Champion comes with a Champion Card, a City Card with information about their home city, and a short video, so you can learn their story. There are creative activities for each Champion and their home city, helping you learn about different barriers that people face, as well as cultures from around the world. You can share your activities with us and have your work featured on the Community page.

The final No Barriers Challenge is to create your own Champion Card. This is your chance to show the world who inspires you and makes a positive change to the people around you. You can choose anyone you like, a family member, a friend, a community leader. Think about who has made your area a better place to live and who you think other people would find inspiring. Try to pick someone who isn’t already famous, we want to share the hidden stories of local heroes. Big Ideas will then share your cards, creating a digital collection of inspirational people from across London. Click here to get involved and we cannot wait to share your Champions!

No Barriers is supported by the Mayor of London and funded by the Greater London Authority and Football Association of Ireland.
