Merton Autism Outreach Service (MAOS)
Merton Autism Outreach Service (MAOS) supports the inclusion of pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social Communication Difficulties in mainstream settings. MAOS works in an advisory role with schools supporting staff in developing their understanding of ASD and sharing tools and strategies to enable pupils to access learning and social opportunities. This service is funded by the Direct Schools Grant (DSG). If you have concerns about your child’s SEN, talk to your school or setting Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo). You can ask her or him about involving an Educational Psychologist (EP) and the MAOS service
The school SENCo can liaise with their school’s Educational Psychologist to ascertain the suitability of the referral. If appropriate, the SENCo makes a referral to MAOS.
