Local Offer
- Description
Partnerships with parent’s forms part of our ethos and something we are extremely passionate about delivering. Your child will have a primary key carer who will do a home visit before your child starts with us so that they can really get to know your child’s individual needs and they will continue to observe, assess and plan for your child once they start at the setting. You will have a meeting with your child’s key carer 4-6 weeks after their first day to go through your child’s baseline assessment so you know your child’s starting point and what the key carer and you at home will need to be working towards and this will then continue at 3 set points throughout the year (Nov, March & June)
If your child has been identified as needing some additional support we will more than likely implement a SEN Support Plan which sets out SMART targets to support your child’s development. You will be present at all SEN Support and Review meetings to give your input and these will be reviewed every 6 weeks with you.
If it has been identified that your child requires the support of any outside professionals e.g. Speech and Language Therapist, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist etc. we will work with you to ensure you understand fully what their role is, how they can help your child and they will also be present at all SEN Support meetings. Termly reports/action plans will always include any targets set by outside professionals that are working with your child.
As a setting we are constantly reviewing what we offer the children in our care to ensure that our premises, resources, staff skills and training are continuing to meet your child’s individual needs. We regularly review the progress children with a SEN are making in relation to their starting point and we have an annual visit from our Early Years Advisor who will assess how well we are meeting the needs of children with SEN within the setting. We also seek feedback from parents on how they feel we are meeting their child’s needs.
