Melbury College: Lavender Campus (MMES)
Merton's specialist education support schools and services have combined to form Melbury College; a partnership that includes Lavender (Merton Medical Education Services - MMES) , Melrose School, Canterbury Campus, Cobham Court and the David Nicholas Centre.
Lavender Campus (previously known as MMES) supports students aged 5 -16, with medical needs, who are temporarily out of mainstream school, because of medical reasons.
Our students may have a physical illness or mental health need. They may receive home tuition until they are well enough to return to mainstream school, 1:1 tuition at a local library or be invited to join Lavender school, a small setting for KS4 students, where external examinations can be taken (GCSE and Functional Skills)
All students are offered an individual timetable covering the core subjects, wellbeing and PE. On site we have CAMHS support via Art therapy, additional Drama therapy, Speech and Language and Educational Psychology. We work closely with outside agencies to ensure our students receive the additional support they need. Our goal for every student is that they return to mainstream/specialist provision armed with the skills necessary to succeed.
