EarlyBird Plus
The EarlyBird Plus Programme is for parents/carers of young people (4-9 years) with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and for the professionals supporting them. It is a three-month programme consisting of eight group sessions and two home visits. The aim of the course is to empower parents/carers and to support a consistent approach between home and school.
The programme covers the following themes: understanding autism, sensory differences, communication, developing interaction, socialisation and understanding/supporting behaviour.
The group sessions take place at Cricket Green School and run from 9.30am to 12.00pm. Three places are allocated to each family: two for parents/carers and one for a professional who works with the child. The programme is run by professionals who have been trained by the National Autistic Society. To apply for a place parents/carers need to self-refer by contacting Cricket Green school on 020 8640 1177.
