MacMillan Cancer Support

Macmillan Cancer Relief helps provide expert care and practical and emotional support to people living with cancer. They fund specialist Macmillan nurses, doctors and health professionals, as well as providing a range of local support groups and self help groups, including the Macmillan Cancerline. The Cancerline helps people living with cancer and their family and friends find their way through the maze of cancer information and support in the UK. Specialist advisers can help identify which information you need and which organisations will best provide it. They will listen to your issues with respect and empathy and calls are free. Macmillan Nurses are experience Registered nurses with at least 5 years experience, including two or more years in cancer or palliative care. They can provide support and information to people with cancer and their families, from the point of diagnosis and during their illness. Speak to your G.P or consultant about the availability of Macmillan Nurses in your area.
